It
consists of a support with mounted millimetre scale, a spiral spring, a hanger
for weights. The scale is 12 cm long engraved on a plane mirror to permit the
parallax illumination by reflection and mounted with elevation adjustment on a
support rod. The steel spring 1 cm in diameter and 3 cm long when unstretched
is suspended from a hook above the scale weights not included.
